Book Club

“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.”  – Charles William Eliot

I spend about as much time reading as I do upside down, and I sometimes sacrifice sleep to read (I’m not sure that’s so smart!) which is saying a lot. I love nothing more than digging into good book, curling up with a hot drink, and just getting lost in it.

As a yoga teacher, I naturally spend spend a lot of time passing on knowledge. However, I definitely don’t consider myself just a teacher, no way, in fact, I’d consider myself 90% student and 10% teacher. I like trying things I’m not good at, I like reading books I know nothing about, I like falling on my face every now and again, and most importantly, I just enjoy the process of discovery.  After all, yoga was new to me at one point, so you never know!

Books are a way to constantly introduce a new way of thinking, instill a different set of beliefs, and challenge you to a completely different philosophy.

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies.  The man who never reads lives only once.”

I read books on anything and everything, and every time I finish a book I feel as if I’ve just seen a new, fresh world though someone else’s eyes.

My goal for this book club is to share with you some amazing books I’ve read, send short summaries and life changing, little pieces of wisdom that I’ve acquired, and to find the connection, if possible, to yoga and the yoga practice itself and share that all with you!  Besides, a great book will stick in your brain long, long, long after you finish reading it and that little bit of knowledge you gain permanently is an absolutely priceless investment in yourself.

Not to mention, I’ve also become an aspiring writer myself and I want to share with you my latest projects and ideas, and I want you to hold me accountable!

If this all this inspires you to rediscover your passion for reading or you just want to keep up-to-date on what I’ve read lately and the insight I’ve acquired, feel free to subscribe below, I would love to have you!
